When I say pull over I mean on the side of the road. I can see what you mean if you're talking about 495, I wouldn't pull over on the highway or interstate. In that case, I'd probably pull over once I got off on the exit. I live and work in the city so pulling over is easy for me.

It saves a lot of time. My kids like Chipotle. Lines are often long, like they are at Starbucks. I put in the order before I leave and pick it up without waiting in line. Sometimes I do it in the car when I’m leaving the grocery store before I drive there. Or when I’m sitting in the car, waiting to pick them up from practice, knowing we will stop by Chipotle on the way home.

+1.

However the Cava app makes me want to gouge my eyes out so I order in person there. Thankfully mine isn’t crowded like the Chipotle.

+1 I order online from Chopt all the time but the thought of going through every single option at Cava seems exhausting and I’d rather do it in person. During the pandemic they came up with some popular prearranged combos that made for easier orders so I expect I’m not the only one.

+1 This isn’t rocket science. Place before you go. Place in between errands when parked. Or pull over.

I guess it is to me. Pull over...where? How do you account for traffic that might force you to leave your drink sitting there for 20+ minutes after it's made?
Oh boy. Life is tough for you I see.

Yes. I have intractable depression, and scheduling like this is tough. Does mocking me make you feel like a big person?

Depression means you can’t use common sense?
Apparently.

Dont be jerks.

I use it all the time. I just used it Saturday. I finished at Costco, packed up my car, placed a mobile order, and then drove to the restaurant. Not sure what's hard to understand about this?? Same with work, get in my car, before driving off place mobile order, drive to restaurant.

You should always use mobile ordering for McDs because you usually get free stuff. I'll pull over to place a mobile order if I need to.

I get my order ready before I start driving. Then, when I am within 5-10 minutes I submit the order.

Some places you can choose a time and not just "asap", so you can set it up before you leave your location. Starbucks, sometimes I'll place the order after I arrive and park, and then sit in the car for a few instead of standing around.

I mostly do mobile orders on road trips. Usually more than one person in the car. I order for the driver.

I used to do a Starbucks mobile order when I commuted to work. My commute was a 10 minute bus ride and a 10 minute walk. I placed my order 3-4 minutes into the walk, and it was ready when I arrived at the starbucks (which is 1 min from my office).

I don't do mobile orders if I am driving solo.

We dont know anything about your route or WTF you live, so how on earth could we answer this? If you don't know how to pull over to use your phone, I just dont know what to tell you.

Maybe you missed the actual question. Here, let me help you. How is having to pull off the road and get your phone out of your purse/console any faster than ordering in person?

You seem set on making this more complicated than it needs to. But even in your alleged extreme circumstances you could park at Starbucks, order from your car, sit in your car for the 5 minutes it takes to make your drink, then walk in and get it when it’s ready. It’s still quicker than walking in, waiting in line to order, then waiting for them to make the drink and having to stand with everyone else waiting.

DP. It's not about the time it takes to order, it's about the time in between when you order and when your order is ready. In person, you stand around waiting for X minutes. With mobile ordering, those same X minutes are the time spent to get to place.

This morning as I was leaving my exercise class I placed an online order for a sandwich from a place on my way home. It takes them 20 minutes to make. So those 20 minutes are the time I spent driving there, and voila, my order was ready when I arrived. Versus 20 minutes to get there and another 20 minutes waiting after I order, for a total of 40 minutes.

I order while driving a good bit of time.
