So what happened??

This is easy.

Take over email account (change password so they can't get in). Go through reset protocols for each account. I would do it in the middle of the night.

For banks if you can go to branch with proper credentials they can help you.

What is the status on this situation?

Did you fire them?

Did you get all the passwords?

Change the passwords after you checked the access, before firing.

1Password is a good option and they have a corporate rate. The Administrator can create different "vaults" to separate passwords based on who needs to use them. For instance, you'd create a "Finance" vault for your accounting team (bank accounts, etc). Only select accounting team members would have access to the saved passwords. Marketing would have their own vault, and so on.
