NOVA is much bigger than just the highly desirable zipcodes in Bethesda, CC, Potomac, Kensington. Its Fairfax County, Arlington County, Alexandria. A lot of NOVA has less crime and better rated schools than our MD counterpart

OP, if you are in HoCo, that's a HoCo problem. MoCo and PG property values have gone up, by a lot.

PG is the next big thing. MoCo is bursting at the seams in regards to pricing with million dollar townhomes.
The schools aren't even consistently that good throughout the county.

I don't like troll posts, but I've also read quite a few what appear to be bona fide threads started by people in Maryland concerned with the state's economic future, just as some Virginia posters start threads concerned about the direction of the state under Glenn Youngkin or the direction of local schools under school boards totally dominated by Democrats.

One thing that is definitely silly is responding to posts that are comparing the Maryland suburbs of DC with the Virginia suburbs of DC by pointing to state-wide metrics, when an OP is obviously focusing on regional trends, not what may be happening in Cumberland or Roanoke.


+1 on unintended heated discussions. Sometimes you’re new in town and trying to figure things out! I’ve been here 10 years and I’m still confused by some topics. I try to approach initial threads assuming folks aren’t trolling.
