I cook 6 days a week. And I use a non stick green pan.

maybe if I was only cooking 2-4 days a week I'd change.

The only oil we keep in the house is EVOO. Seed oil is garbage, probably as bad as cancerous nonstick coating.

Same here. I use my cast iron Lodge skillet almost every day. Love it!

+1 although they aren’t that expensive

Isn’t that where the phrase “born with a stainless steel pan in their mouth” comes from?

And their private chefs use nonstick pans, lmao

I came here to say this. Wealthy people don't cook!

I'm not wealthy and I mainly use cast iron.

stainless, carbon steel, enameled, or cast iron for stove

add in pyrex/ceramic/glass for microwave/oven

that is what my mother did and I see no reason to change.

eggs on the cast iron don't stick. why would they?

What is with the obsession with wealth on this forum?! Seems super strange to me.

+1. I am apparently missing whatever gene you need to successfully cook something on all-clad without it sticking like crazy.

Is that like a blanket statement? You cook everything on teflon/non-stick? Gross.

OMG like totally

We’re wealthy and also don’t know how to manage our cast iron skillets. So I just by new ones every year or two.

+2, and we cook eggs on cast iron, they never stick. If your pans are seasoned and you use "hot pan, cold oil" technique, nothing will stick.

Meh. I spent $750 on nonstick all clad pans. What I’m careful about is making sure the surface doesn’t get scratched.

My in-laws use forks and metal spatulas on their pans. I have to look away and it drives me crazy.

Yes, we're doctors and scientist, and we limit the use of non-stick in our house. We have a parrot too. Bird lungs are very susceptible to toxins in the air - one of the things that can kill a bird are fumes from damaged polytetrafluoroethylene coating.

Exactly!
