Mclean HS has always recognized student accomplishments.


I understand the school may do so, but this was an FCPS press release featured on the main FCPS web page.

I was just about to point this out. As a New School parent, I love to see these kids excel! All of them.


Me too!! The New School is amazing and I love the learning environment there....but happy for all students who are being celebrated.

It’s private and costs a fortune of course. If my kid were hot housed as a toddler, in a private school with all the resources, private lessons galore, I’m sure he could also win the competitions. But alas.


This is like 40 kids in the entire country.


Who had access to resources 99% of 12th grades don’t.


It’s unclear what resources you are referring to but, even if we accept your statement, the fact remains that the vast majority of kids who have access to opportunities, resources and privileges do not accomplish this. Stop taking away from this student’s accomplishments!

And let's mention the fact that the other student goes to The New School of Northern Virginia. Not an FCPS school. She is an amazing student and is supported by an incredible academic community.
