Completely agree. Intelligence has very little to do with it. Connections, opportunities, and sometimes willing to lay down your values factor in as well.

+1 Also that I'm a single parent and can't spontaneously hang out at 8PM (and probably won't want to do so when scheduled ahead of time because babysitters are expensive and I still have to get up at 6AM the next morning).

why my kids can't read menus in restaurants, have to stand so close to the TV, etc.

they all have a degenerative eye condition where they're losing their central vision. It sucks. And no one can see that they're actually disabled.

Same. They gave me near daily chronic migraines. If 1 more person gaslights me, while I'm migraine-ing, and says "correlation doesn't equal causation" I'm going to lose it. It's the most obnoxious thing to tell somebody experiencing a chronic reaction that it's all in their head or coincidence. They don't know my medical history, or my parents. It's between me and my doctors. People can have reactions to food, beverages, detergent, antibiotics, pollen, smells, it's life. Get real.
