I get it. I am not religious but I would probably 'sage' my house or something. It is traumatizing.

Nancy Pelosi had priests perform an exorcism on her house in the wake of the brutal attack that left her husband Paul hospitalized, her daughter told The New York Times. “I think that weighed really heavy on her soul. I think she felt really guilty. I think that really broke her,” Pelosi’s daughter Alexandra told Times columnist Maureen Dowd.
Apparently Nancy thinks evil spirits or demonic creatures are in her home.
I’m the atheist who is pointing out OPs bigotry (and while I’m at it, several other PPs but I’m not going to quote them; they are probably OP sock puppeting anyhow).
The bolded is the bigoted part. You know nothing of Pelosi’s reasoning or thought process, and the derision in the bolded sentence is clear. Don’t try to squirm away from your open bigotry, OP. I’m done with the thread now as I don’t post where bigots do once I’ve spoken up, so won’t respond further. OP, you are a bigot. Nothing more to say.

She had a priest perform a sacrament of her long-time religion so she could feel safer in her home. I fail to see any issues here at all.
You just seem like an anti-Catholic bigot OP. And I’m an atheist.
What? I am not anti-Catholic? How is discussing this information anti-Catholic?
You jumped to derogatory conclusions over her reasoning. You have no idea what she thinks. You are an anti-Catholic bigot. If you had wanted to discuss what happened you would have stuck to facts and not editorialized. Be honest with yourself, please, though I realize that is asking the impossible of a bigot.

You don’t know who is legit religious; only God knows that.
I can imagine if a republican had their home exorcised, what people would think and say, though.

Nope. Not in this case. In this case, we all know.
PP here. Hate to break it to you, but you are not God.

That sounds way more likely than an exorcism. It is not at all uncommon for Catholics to have a home blessing ceremony when they move into a new house or, in this case, when something bad has happened there.
No, her daughter specifically said an exorcism. Read the source.
No, it's the same thing just different words. And the non-believers are just overblowing it because they know that "exorcism" has a devil meaning to the ignorant.
Yes, this is basically the priest re blessing the house. Catholics do that all the time. My grandmother would be appalled I never had my house blessed.
Procedure for the Minor Exorcism of a Place
A minor exorcism of place, such as exorcizing a home, may be prayed by any priest with faculties to minister within the Archdiocese.
Those seeking the blessing or exorcism of their home or business should contact their local parish priest.
If Nancy wanted her home blessed, that’s different. Catholics can have their homes blessed or exorcised. Her home, according to her daughter, was definitely exorcised.
What an odd post, given the text you excerpted did not show a significant difference between the two.
