Again your circle must be VERY small. I don't know anyone who has gotten Covid from flying in the past 6 months and we don't mask AT ALL anymore. 15 family members flew here for Christmas. None masked. No covid.

Sorry op. Thinking good thoughts for your husband. We still mask and it’s frighting to me, but not surprising, that someone wouldn’t mask to travel to support someone in ill health. Best wishes.

My spouse is unconscious and on a ventilator. He cannot mask. The hospital staff and all visitors must mask. I don’t think they make other ICU patients mask, though they do give patients a covid test.


So your sister will only see your spouse when she’s in the hospital wearing an N95? That seems like enough.

I think when people say no one is masking...you have to realize than almost none of them are visiting someone in ICU! It is a huge distinction.

I posted earlier - my DH got it on a flight (probably) and was masked the whole time, no eating/drinking. I got it too, but did eat and drink.

As PP pointed out, unless she had been quarantining prior to her visit, there is no real point in masking on her trip.

Have her test daily (or 2xs a day) and go from there.

I’m so sorry your DH is in the ICU. I wish you all well.

Tons of people are masking. Last Sunday I was at the birthday party and almost all the little kids were masked as were half the adults.


I don’t see anyone masking.

Regardless, masking wont do much if she were out partying the day before the flight, or not masking in the security lines at the airport etc. If someone isn’t socially distancing - and basically no one at this point is - then the masking should have begun about a week before the flight, not just when she stepped on to the plane. That’s the reality and that’s why OP should have been crystal clear about what her expectations were.
