No, unless you are counting yearly shots like the flu vaccine, there are no regular vaccinations at 9 and 10. My kids will be 11 in the spring and they did not get any shots at their last 2 annual visits. They do have some shots that are due at their 11 year old annual check up.

You might not think your DD "needs" a pediatrician/GP bc you claim your kid is seemingly healthy, but maybe DD wants to chat with a medical professional about things that she doesn't want to confront with you.

11 year old vaccines also includes the one versus four strains of meningitis, which is contagious.

The kid is 11 years old, which is exactly when they typically give the first dose, although you can get it much later. She didn’t miss anything.

BUT op is ONLY getting her kid shots b/c the school requires it. If it weren't for school, Op's kid would be without.

My pediatrian retired and sold her practice to a quack company that doesn't offer vaccines. I yanked my tween and teen and now they see my doctor, a female family practitioner.

We go the Virginia Pediatric and Adolescent Center, so it kind of covers a range of ages. My kid is 14 (male). They have both male and female doctors, plus at least one nurse practitioner who is female. Maybe look for a larger practice that offers more choices.

I know. My pediatrician practically had to kick me out of the practice. She did my gyn exams and prescribed birth control from the time I was 18 through 22. After I graduated from college, she told me I had to move on and she helped me find an OB/GYN who also did general check ups.

Find a female pediatrician. Your daughter needs to get in the habit of having well visits and not just going to the doctor when she’s sick or needs a vaccine.

Pretty sure you need a physician that has formal pediatrician training: either a pediatrician or family practice. Regular internists don’t take patients under 18

I see a family doctor practice that is all female doctors and caters to women as clients. They offer the full gamut of well woman care and I'm sure would take a teen. They would refer to a specialist for anything that falls outside a GP for care.

Also, where I live the pediatricians are really good about reserving well visits for times when college students are likely to be home. In the past it has slightly annoyed me but now I have a kid about to go to college and I totally get it. Also, I have found it easier to schedule a sick visit for my kids at the pediatrician than a sick visit for me at my family medicine, but I do not know if that is true everywhere.
