Assuming your parents have been married for decades, you have to realize none of this is “new.” It may be escalating, but your mom has been putting up with addiction, eating disorders and mental health problems for years. She is the frog in the pot. Your likelihood of changing this is like .0000001 percent. She made her choices long ago. It sounds like her religion may have played a role as well and she has a jackass of a priest right now.

You have to step back from this. You have to accept that your mom is going to put up with the crazy. Your dad may die from doing something dumb like running into the street. Your mom may die from his stupidity or his violence if he escalates. But they both made their choices. If your dad tells you directly that he is going to harm himself or someone else, I would call 911. Other than that, I would limit my contact.
