Correct! As a bartender I had many a customer turn up their nose at their Irish Coffee and ask where the Bailey’s was…there’s just Jameson in an Irish coffee! Zero customers who ordered an Irish Coffee actually wanted one. They wanted coffee and Bailey’s, maaaaaybe a little whiskey.

And what is the problem with that?

I WFH and have never drunk before I was done with work. I find the idea very strange.

Honestly in the occasions I have indulged in morning drinking, even back in college, it just made me want to go take a nap (yes, even if I also had coffee). Just felt sluggish all day. I don't get the appeal.

I just had one last night for the first time in years. They're really not my thing, but I can see why people like them. Very warming and festive.

Anyone else drink Irish coffee or Keoke coffee at bars in the 80s? I am old and truly can’t remember if they were popular or I somehow thought it was a sophisticated drink at night in a bar with dancing-no postprandial aspect at all.

I can just see how they’re so inviting people could easily be lulled into doing it during the week. Not to get blitz all work day but they do down so easy and then you’re buzzed and high on caffeine to start the workday.

You really can’t understand how inappropriate it is if people drink at work?! You don’t need to drink to understand that.

Define drink. A single morning drink is not the same as drinking all day at work. On the TV series ‘Mayor of Kingston’ actor Jeremy Renner pours whiskey into his morning coffee in his office, but he doesn’t booze all day.

That is the least of Mike’s problems. However, Mike’s business is hardly what most people do for a living. Generally if a motor vehicles employee, judge, cashier, teacher, radiology tech, lawyer, plumber, or mortician is drinking alcohol in their daily morning coffee, we think about alcohol dependency.

Or it just tastes good and soothing. I don’t think anyone is getting even buzzed off a splash of whiskey in their coffee.

Whipped cream and sugar cube can make it sweet and dessert-like. Better without either imo.

WFH all week so I’m putting a little Bushmills and Baileys in my morning coffee.

That’s why it’s usually on the dessert menus at restaurants.

You’re naive if you don’t think remote workers aren’t getting blasted.

You’re exaggerating if you think it’s the norm.

You’re wrong. “46% of those working from home have clocked out early to pour themselves a drink at least once during the quarantine. Another 45% of these respondents even admitted to having alcoholic drinks during work hours.”

Not even including dope, thc vape, and edibles.

You don’t seem to understand your point but proved my point. 46% STOP working to drink. So not at work. Then of that 46%, 45% of them say they have drunk during the day. So what is that actual %? Oh right. Not the norm.

And great job of citing stats from a world wide pandemic that cause more mental health issues then any other recent event in history.

45% of workers ADMIT to something in a poll (the real number is obviously far higher) and you still think only a tiny minority do it? You’re quite naive.

Lady, you don’t understand statistics. That 46% is only of those sampled, who again, stopped working to drink. You didn’t even cite your source so we have no idea how big the sample size is. Was it 100 people? 1000 people? What were the demographics? But you’re over here acting as if that 46% was ALL workers. 😂

And again, you cited something from during quarantine…

A lot of people are boozing (and/or getting stoned) while remote working. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/us-alcohol-sales-spike-during-coronavirus-outbreak-2020-04-01

Are you reading the articles you’re quoting? You posted an article from April 2020. Yes, many people turned to alcohol during the pandemic as their mental health suffered. You keep validating my point, not yours. Your article does NOT mean most people drink while working in any given time.

Is it really that many calories if you skip the whipped cream? Whiskey and Bailey’s is probably ~ 200 calories. But your not putting in sugar and cream you may have otherwise put in.
