You’re welcome. Aspinal of London hobo bag and camera bag are another no-fail everyday bag alternative. The quality of Coach classic leather bags (which deserve more credit than they get though I don’t carry one) without being Coach.

The real mark of status is being able to buy whatever you want, regardless of the price point, because it matches your personal style. I live in NYC and husband works in high finance, so we have a lot of billionaires and near-billionaires in our immediate social and work orbit. They don't all wear Chanel and Hermes because it's Chanel and Hermes. They wear it because Chanel and Hermes stores are in the general area where they tend to shop, and they saw a bag they thought was cute and they bought it. On the other hand, I just as often see them wearing unremarkable and even relatively reasonably-priced bags that they picked up on a whim at Saks. Unfortunately, status is a whole picture kind of thing. If you're wearing a $5k Chanel bag with a polyester top, brassy hair, and uneven skin tone, you will look like a middle class person who decided to spend their whole bonus check on a fun splurge (and there's nothing wrong with that!). If you're wearing a $500 Staud bag with impeccably tailored clothes made from high end textiles, hair that is maintained every six weeks at the salon and flawless skin from prescription skincare and regular dermatological treatments, you will look high end. This is all to say, cultivate your own style and buy what you love, regardless of the price point. That will cultivate a much better image than buying a "status" handbag.

Almost all high end handbags are made in Northern Italy by Chinese workers in Chinese owned factories.

They’re often mostly made in China and then “finished” in Italy, too. True of all brands, high and mid.

Meh. I carry my handmade in Italy bags from a little store where i watched the artisan make it. Def didn't cost $1000 either.

I’ve always loved Mulberry. And I’m a person snob. I think I’m the only person who ever jumped up and said, “oh my God look at her Mulberry bag”, during the first time I watched “Bridget Jones baby”. Lol..
