My son is good friends with the son of the aftercare director at his school. I feel 100% comfortable with DS going to their house for sleepovers. But she doesn't let her son go anywhere for a sleepover and it took like a year for her to even allow her son to come to our house for an unsupervised playdate. Her explanation is that she's worked with so many kids and so many families, and has seen so many questionable things, that she can't help but be over protective. Caregivers see a lot of crappy things.

Maybe she has suffered from sexual abuse when she was younger and doesn't want anyone to watch her child.

Don't make it about yourself and respect her decision.
