I like this one - https://www.thermoworks.com/thermopop/ - I think it was a Wirecutter pick.

Agree. Instant, easy to use at different angles, and once it fell in a sink of water (unknown to me at the time) and when I found it submerged the next morning, it was completely fine. So, apparently indestructible.

Another endorsement of the Thermoworks thermometer. We use the Classic Thermapen and have a silicone sleeve with magnets so it can live on the side of our fridge. There's no sense putting it in a drawer when we use it so much! It also has a lanyard.

Hedley & Bennett cross-back apron. Really well designed.

I haven't gotten one, but someone upthread asked about wooden spoons, and I'm eyeing this one, because I worship J. Kenji Lopez-Alt so much:

I love my Instant Pot and wish I could justify buying a larger one when ours still works perfectly (maybe I can foist ours off on my son). Pressure cooker + slow cooker.

The small size of GIR spatulas (in addition to the full-size ones). I have a handful because we use them so much.

Fits in a drawer and I can pull and cut parchment, nonstick foil or cling wrap with one hand.

I don’t have the 3-piece set but have ones for parchment and plastic wrap and love them. Have had them for years and they are still in great shape.

A lot of great ideas.. in addition to the immersion blender a mini food processor is so nice to have and I use it way more than my full size one.

Any product from the brand Caraway is great- expensive but worth it.

^^^And I know what you're thinking, it's just a bowl. But it's so useful for food prep, serving, and storage that it has become The Bowl.

this 1 quart corelle serving bowl along with the plastic lid. Perfect for serving salads, cut-up fruit, mashed potatoes, hot cereal, etc.

And the lid is fantastic. You want to toss a salad? Put on the lid and shake it. You have leftovers? put on the lid and stow it in the fridge. Plus, you can microwave it. It's the MVP of serving dishes.

For baking a good scale and thermometer. Use the scale for all ingredients and bake to an internal temperature. Everything is just so consistent.

How often do you replace the beans?
And who is your bean source?
When we started this maybe 10 years ago a pound of Madagascar boy rib vanilla beans cost me about$60 on sale. Now… unaffordable.
