These comments are absolutely, rediculous, hateful and false. Every parent I know is angry about what happened. Why wouldn't they be? The city and high school covered it up. There was outcry. I'm not sure if you're referencing the rape cover up or the recent fight(s) or the murder at Bradlee but there wasn't an outcry. One parent showed up to the school board meeting after the rape cover up was exposed. Zero parents showed up at the school board meeting last week. While I hope parents show up at the next meeting this week, I doubt it.
Posting something on social media or tut tutting at pick up isn't an outcry. I don't doubt that people were upset with any of the horrific events because that would make them absolute monsters. But there wasn't an outcry. To date, not a single PTA has even commented on any of this.
I do wonder what it will take to get parents to take some sort of action.
Violence won't. They just went to virtual learning when last school year ended in gang warfare and parents were ok with that.

+1 I went to a diverse high school in a large suburb, mostly FARMS, roughly the same white/non-white distribution. We had 2 fights that were big enough to register in my mind. The difference is that we had 2,000 kids max and people who routinely made trouble were moved to the alternative school.

Don't forget Beverley Hills, North Ridge etc. They sure cared when ACPS was going to put adult housing at GM. But a gang rape in a school bathroom? That's fine.
Since ACPS is discussing/planning to turn George Mason into another middle school I'm sure all the NIMBYs will get super organized again with PTA meetings with the super, the board and the mayor while ignoring rapes, gangs, murders and brutal fights.
