Christian children taunt other children at Easter? No, kids eat chocolate bunnies and hunt for colorful easter eggs with candy or small toys inside. Never in my life have I heard children taunting other children at Easter time.

I hope no one tells the OP about how they celebrate in the Netherlands.

Santa is totally Christian. It is Saint Nicholas who is the patron saint of children. Now there are plenty of people who celebrate who don't believe in Jesus, I'm one of them, but to deny that CHRISTmas isn't Christian is really disingenuous.

What kind of jewish is this? I grew up Jewish in a jewish community (Long Islanders represent!) and we all got hanukah gifts, and the Christian kids got christmas gifts. My kids are jewish and don't get visited by Santa.

We are a Christian family but my husband grew up entirely without Santa and Christmas trees and all the non-religious aspects of Christmas. Our son is only 2 so we only casually mention Santa as a character. Santa brings one toy, about $20, and we give him a modest amount of other things. (The grandparents are a different story…) We won’t be doing the naughty/nice thing or the sees you when you’re sleeping.

Yet another family that never did naughty/nice. And I think the Elf is creepy and commercial, so we never did that either.

We don't really play into the naughty/nice thing. I never threaten my kids that "Santa is watching" or something like that.

My daughter was worried one year about getting coal and asked me about it. I told her I didn't know anyone who ever got coal. She was maybe 6 and then says "what about Donald Trump?" and I had to say "well yes, he probably does get coal, you're right".

So now at age 8 she still believes good old D.Trump is the only person to have ever gotten coal from Santa .
