You haven’t had MY pumpkin pie. It’s delicious!

I would definitely try it, but I have never been impressed with a pumpkin pie. I take one bite and consider myself good until next year when I will take another obligatory bite to see if I was wrong all the other years. It's just never that good, compared to other pies or desserts available, in my humble opinion.

Me too. I’m happy it’s the most popular pie with all our guests so I can have more of the apple and cranberry walnut ones.

I love pumpkin pie! Made ours this year from minimalist baker recipe. It wasn’t a popular dessert at our thanksgiving so I’ve been devouring it all my myself over the weekend. Oh well!

I have one pumpkin pie I like (Silver Palate recipe) which counters my objection to texture (dense) by mixing cream with the pumpkin and to taste (bland/squashy) by adding cardamom to the spice mix. I’m also the PP that puts pecans on top of the pie.

Not sure why I looked for a way to like pumpkin pie (after avoiding it for 20 years)…. Must have been a combination of being the host rather than the guest and liking pumpkin muffins.

In the same mouthful? Hmmmm, trying this tomorrow.

FWIW, another approach to this combo is to line the edge of your pumpkin pie (after baking) with pecan halves and then use a few more to make a flower in the center.

I love pumpkin pie, but it has to be baked correctly. At the dinner we attended this year, the pumpkin filling was barely baked, so it felt raw and disgusting. Well-baked filling is much airier.
