You realize the stores are prebaking all these things, so the only real difference is which fridge it is sitting in - the stores or the OP’s house.

Also wanted to add he makes it out of our home grown sugar pumpkins. Nothing store bought can compare.

Yuck. Our chef always makes it the morning of. The pie crust pate can be made the day before.

You don't live near an actual bakery? Pumpkin pie isn't expensive at even the nicest bakeries. Find a bakery that uses real butter and/or lard in their crusts. An amazing crust is what takes pumpkin pie to another level.
