It is really all about how they were raised and who they were around. Taylor has what appears to be supportive and protective parents. She also started her career in country music touring with Brad Paisley. I recently watched an interview with Mila Kunis and she said one of the big reasons she didn't get into drugs is that none of the people she hung out with on That 70s Show did drugs, she was like 14 when she started the show. I would say parents either protected most of the people on your list or they just hung out with good people.

I've read that Nick and Aaron's twin sister had to get a restraining order a few years ago after doing everything they could to help. My heart breaks for them as well. What a dark and terrible place to be for you to have to (1) go through such lengths and (2) experience this tragic outcome. I'm sure they're wracked with guilt, but as a PP mentioned, at some point they have to want the help themselves

You didn't really rattle off the best names for whatever point you were trying to make. Most of the male performers you listed are rumored to have sexual issues (closeted gay/bi) and none of the women you listed are married. Gaga and Swift are childless well into their 30s. Adele is a train wreck.

I think the PP meant child performers. Aaron was 7 when he started performing, issued his debut album at 9, and was touring by 10, or something like that.

I’m from Lancaster. There are certainly sketchy parts of the city but there are also very nice parts of the city. Not unlike many places. Part of the allure is Lancaster/Palmdale was that it was the “affordable” part of LA County where people can get their McMansions for half the price as LA but still commute to LA or the valley. The more West you go in Lancaster towards the Mountains, the more upper class you get. Essentially, anyone zoned for Quartz Hill high. But yeah, meth is a problem.

He has been really really unwell for quite a while. His girlfriend is also an addict with mental health issues. They lost custody of the baby a couple months ago due to the drug use and fighting . HIs girlfriend's mother currently has custody.

Very sad. He and I are the same age. I am not excusing the addiction or other issues that were so clearly present, but the late 90s/early 2000s were a rough time to be a celebrity. Look at Britney, etc. The entertainment industry was not kind and it was all about breaking those people down.
