With American shows I find I don’t really need it and it’s distracting. But I always use it with British shows/shows with a lot of British or foreign actors. Otherwise I find myself rewinding a lot because I didn’t understand something.

Always it helps me focus on the program.

Always if it's available, and no one in our household is hearing impaired.

This is why we started, and it spread to other shows. Now I fear we are getting addicted to it. I tend to read the captions instead of watching the action, so I kind of regret starting it.

Yes, we keep the volume pretty low because the kids can hear it in bed. I don't like "pre-reading" the words so I try not to look at them unless I need it.

This is an ongoing debate in our home. My kids like having them on, but I can't stand it. I hate reading the words before they are spoken, especially with comedies.

Yes. My ears are fine according to an audiologist, but something is wrong with my brain. CC helps immensely.

Always found this so baffling. Airplanes — with the enormous background noise — have no CC options on their entertainment. So disappointing. I can never watch the plane shows/movies. I have to be sure to bring my own.

I generally find them distracting — I want to watch the action. But I do use them for Derry Girls.
