+1. Same. Not worth it to eat inside a crowded restaurant.

Who are you responding to? When did I say it was irresponsible to eat indoors?

This, I truly don't understand why people are still "afraid" of Covid? You're going to get it. And you're very likely going to be fine.

Not sure why this is a debate in the Food forum but I wish ppl would stop diminishing Covid. You can live your life how you want - your life your rules. But to say you're going to be fine if you get it or it's like the flu is really laughable because there is so much data now that you're just being obtuse to raise whatever point that is not clear.

Let's be clear - Covid has killed more than 1million people in the US alone. For example, in 2021 the Flu killed about 25K while covid took almost 400K lives. Not to mention that it does cause unique complications, such as blood clots, multisystem inflammatory syndrome, and long-term symptoms that persist well beyond the actual infection.

So again - live your life as you see fit but you can't change facts and make the narrative that people shouldn't be concerned more than they are about other cold or flu viruses.

OP -- you are not normal. Everyone is eating inside -- no one uses a mask. If you do either you are in a fringe lunatic minority. Yes COVID can be dangerous. But everyone is going to get it 4-8 times over the next several years no matter the steps you take. Any other thought just misses reality. Maybe you can get it 4 times rather than 8. But you have to live your life like normal.

No thanks. If I have to get covid, I prefer to get it as few times as possible. You do you. A person who chooses to wear a mask or take more precaution is not a lunatic.

I agree with you on this. We are still eating outdoors when it's possible. If I go indoors, it is normally off hours where there's barely anyone or the space is large enough.

Covid isn't a nothing burger. It has implications and we are still learning more about it, and I say this as a family of healthcare workers. Just because you don't care doesn't mean others have to adopt the same system of belief.

We try to eat outside when that option is available but have eaten indoors a few times. But we live in LA so the weather usually allows for that year round with heat lamps.

My father died from it last week. He was 80 but mostly healthy. He had all the shots. Covid started a downward spiral for him that ended with sepsis.

You realize 80 is a perfectly normal age to die right?

Oh wow. Pp, please consider whether your response would ever be okay when someone has just lost a loved one.

I don't eat inside either. Many restaurants have outdoor heaters - I think they are here to stay. Everyone does what works for them

Ignore the trolls.

And why do people care? Honestly who cares if some people only eat outside or order in that is their business.

Oh dear the MAGGOTS got their panties in a wad because now we have POLIO back ......Nah they are too stupid to figure out that science.

A "troll" is not someone you disagree with. Everyone (Maggots and non-maggots included) are eating inside again, this is the majority position, you understand that right?

What are maggots in this context? A disgusting Google search isn't helping.

Catching covid quarterly from weekly indoor dining is about as self-destructive as weekly tipsy driving or weekly unprotected anonymous sex.
You may not die 6 weeks later of acute covid, but you're exposing yourself to serious chronic health issues.

I’m happy that patio season has been extended. Before COVID, all of the outdoor seating would have been put away by now.
