Try the turby twist towels for their hair! My DD loves hers so much she travels with it. If you can braid their hair or put it into a bun before you cap them, you'll cut down on tangles even more.

I've seen a ton of kids at all levels (team, stroke & turn, lessons) leave the pool in a hooded bathrobe. My kids are older, so that always seems super adorable and comfy to me!


Does adult turby twist fit little kids or should I get the kid sizes one? It seems like turbie twist only sold in adult sizes from amazon pics.

Don't send a boy alone into a locker room. He can use a regular swim cap and kids size goggles. For the three year old kids size.


What age can a boy go to the men's locker room?


OP here. I am not worried about sending my 6 year old to men's locker room. He changes his clothing behind curtain, and he has done that before at last summer camp with daily swim even though it was all kids there back then at the camp.

For my 6 year old boy, I don't think he knows how to shower & wash hair by himself at men's changing room, and I can't go in to help because I am a mom & I will have my 3 year old girl with me. He knows how to get himself dried and changed.
you probably live close to the pool. Just drive home and shower and eat. Plus, you have another kid to entertain.

Do you also not wash off your makeup at night? Are you one of those people with naturally perfect skin no matter what?


My kids wash off sunscreen and bug spray and whatever else at night, when they shower. Are you saying there are people who wash off sunscreen when they get hom in the middle of the day? That is bizarre to me.

Same, changed clothes then we just carried about our day and then showered like normal at night. I'm amazed at the amount of work some of you do for a 30 minute swim lesson. It sounds exhausting.

DP, but I’ve never washed off pool chemicals and no one has gotten a rash. It’s once a week, not daily. I also don’t wear make up daily but when I do I sometimes don’t remove it (gasp) and I have been fine. Obviously if I had a history of sensitive skin I’d do things differently. But sensitive skin isn’t the default.

Most swim schools have communal showers, so you rinse the kid off while they are in their suit, then dry them off and change, then take them home for a real shower. I've seen some parents use shampoo+soap on their kids at those communal showers, but it seems stupid to me.
