But they don’t have weapons and they’re not hitting her, they’re just trying to push her off the bus. Way scarier stuff happens on the buses. I think it was 10+ years ago at the height of when DC was “good” and there were kids throwing rocks at the buses which was really dangerous. This is bad but not that “scary.”

I have no idea "how" she asked, but nothing justifies what these kids did to her. And I get why people are scared to intervene. What can be done to help prevent some of the out-of-control behavior of youth?

What can be done? Avoid areas and places, like “bad neighborhoods” and public transit where violent people are more likely to be.

This is a result when a society continues to oppress and segregate poor people and gives youth in these communities little hope and a lot of anger.
Crimes were committed on that bus and those responsible need to be held accountable. However, there are deeper issues at play that need attention.

This is a prime example of normalizing violence as part of our society. I don’t know if this person is being serious or a troll. Five strong older adolescent or young men are kicking and trying to shove a woman off the bus. They ganged up on her and are beating her up, yes that is pretty bad. You say 10 years ago they’re throwing rocks at buses which is dangerous, so is kicking at a woman’s head and body.
Is there a longer video where they show the perpetrators faces?

Your privilege is really showing. You realize that so many people in DC have no choice but to live where they live and take public transportation, right. So we should make it safer for them instead of throwing our hands up and letting these hoodlums run the show.
