And paying thousands more for an EV or hybrid makes it tough to justify saving on gas.

My 2004 Honda Accord de-luxe purrs like a kitten and handles the hills and curves with a quickness I cannot get out of my 2015 Equinox or my 2018 Sienna. I choose the Oldie everytime.

Our 2012 Prius V at 205k and going strong. Did put in that 3k in repairs just once 5 years ago.

I now live in Nevada. A Ford dealership told me yesterday that if you order a vehicle they have a lead time of between 12 to 18 months. Of course you can always buy whatever they have on their lot, but if you went any special package or color that they don't have available then you're going to have to wait a long time.

It’s not only about miles, it’s also about age. At 14 years of age, a car would have many problems even with low mileage.
The maintenance that is required at that age to keep the car running smoothly may not be worth it for some people.

It depends on the vehicle more than anything, my 28 year old truck has 600k miles and only cost me about $1000 a year in maintenance and most of that is for tires.
