Continued dysfunction at the board might have provided an opportunity for Elrich to make a move. And he is VERY interested in Park and Planning.

I voted for Blair, whose failed campaign the author worked on, and this is an idiotic statement. Can you not imagine a reason why Elrich is interested in Parks and Planning?

Maybe because it’s vital for economic development?

Maybe because Casey Anderson used it as a political perch to basically run the organization as an opposition party against him?

Maybe because Elrich has responsibility for confirming the appointees?

Maybe because he thinks this episode has been disgraceful?

All you have to know that the article is b.s. is to read this line.

Anderson’s offenses were drinking in his office after hours (which he admits) and alleged colorful language (which he denies). These would not be firing offenses in many organizations.

Yeah, while drinking in the office is not a firable offense in many places, MNCPPC had a ZERO TOLERANCE policy and it was not only a firable offense there but it was already reported that people had lost their jobs over it.

This is just another white guy making excuses for his friend and fellow white guy, Casey Anderson.

The problem is that they have a legislative deadline to pass it.

But I agree that this brings the whole of Thrive deeply into question and casts a serous pall over it.

Even if one is for Thrive, it would be insulting to pass it 2 weeks after the entire planning board was fired for (insert scandal here). At least let some fresh eyes review it, and cool down for a month or three.
