Me too. I haven't stepped foot in a Costco in 10 years. I just can't take it thinking about the 500 warehouses (or however many there) filled floor to ceiling with blister packages of crap that we don't need or that will get thrown out without being used.

Sometimes 7 days is required to get to the destinations. Otherwise, you can make it to 1 island, then turn around and come back.

Yes. Garbage and recycling day on my street is so depressing. So many families have overflowing bins every.single.week. I'm not talking just the week after a holiday or the week you cleaned out your garage. Every.damn.week. DH and I are constantly asking each other - why do we have so much less garbage than everyone else? Where is it all coming from? Also, the number of people who can park ZERO cars in their two car garage that we all have.

Yes, excess is depressing. Every time I go to Costco and I see those shelves full of boxes top to bottom I think about how much we consume and how half of the world is starving.
