She's smart and someone passionate for change who lacks the ability to get out of her own way. MK relies on 4th grade bullying tactics to "get shit done" and will intimidate anyone she perceives to be a threat or who brings different ideas. Previous posters are serious in accusing MK of being on here posing as a parent or former colleague because she has a track record of creating fake social media profiles to spy on sitting school leaders. Old threads about MK have the same tune. Amidst the accusations of bullying, someone will chime in and say, "she gets shit done! the people complaining are bad for kids". Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out and I find it sad that she feels the need to do this. Just do better and you won't have to.

MK leads from a place of deep insecurity, and addressing those insecurities would go a long way to helping her actualize her talent. I have worked for Melissa Kim and would be happy to say any day that she has always been effective in supporting the programs that I oversee. Whenever we have needed assistance getting things ready so that everything goes smoothly FOR STUDENTS she has helped to get the issue resolved. Does she have a brash personality? Yes. However, I have never seen her be rude or unprofessional to anyone. I have though seen her basically be asking questions that are holding people's feet to the fire. I'll be sad to see her go.

This actually gave me a good laugh. You are disparaging an adult for using a basic word to describe unacceptable treatment from a person in power. The fact is you likely have a very low EQ score, as you’d rather nitpick vocabulary.

I had two encounters with Melissa Kim. The first was when she barged into my 6th-grade classroom at Murch to drum up enrollment for Deal. She walked around the room like Oprah firing off questions and fielding answers from bewildered students. It was pretty bizarre.

The second was when our sixth-graders visited Deal to check it out. Kim was observed screaming at a student in the hallway. Excellent way to recruit new students.

The article suggests she was forced out for mistreating other employees. Whether that's true or not, I'm glad to see her gone ever since she testified about learning loss and called it "learning differently" and seemed most concerned about "intersectional forms of oppression" rather than the fact that schools were closed for over a year.

Funny. DC schools are not that great to praise those two for anything.

If you were aware of the state of the school system before Rhee, you would understand.
