Northwestern University campus is beautiful and the Lake Michigan setting is spectacular--as are the views of the Chicago skyline.

+1. Northwestern has maybe the best setting for a college in the US, and has architecturally gorgeous sections of campus. Eclectic mix of modern and classical.
We loved the Northwestern campus too. Not sure how we would like it in winter though.

Richmond has a nice campus, but often overlooked on these rankings (which reference many of the same schools). As nice or nicer than any other campus in Virginia I think.

The one's that have made a lasting impression for me over the years are Yale, Princeton, West Point, Wellesley, Scripps, William and Mary, Sewanee, Bryn Mawr, Stanford (although didn't seem quite as nice last time I visited), Colorado, Indiana, Mount Holyoke, and Middlebury.

I went to the University of Hawaii. The campus itself really isn't all that beautiful. The surroundings most definitely are.
Ole Miss is absolutely gorgeous. The campus reminds me of a Dickens Christmas postcard. Unfortunately, once you step out of Oxford, it's pretty awful. And there is nothing nearby to do. Memphis is only about 40 minutes away, but it has become really dangerous.

I kind of love seeing these schools that probably rarely end up on the same list sharing space. My child visited a few of these and I agree that a beautiful environment can go a long way to making the college experience more enjoyable.

There are always some head scratching inclusions and omissions on these lists. I didn't see Colorado on these lists. Not sure why Georgetown is on.
