Independence isn't class 6 and can't hang with the big boys. They are Class 5. Have fun continuing to be owned by Riverside.
Wait and see Independence has the best freshman class in all of N.VA and will be a contender in future seasons. Best team in the state is not always 6A
Must be some of those VLC 26 kids. We shall see. They are pretty good.
aren't the stronger VLC 2026 players at PVI?
They will be by the time they are upperclassmen…
All of VLC 2026's offense is at PVI and all of their defense is at Indy.
I believe the VLC 2026 goalie is at PVI too.
One is at PVI and the other one is at BI.
Again, this is a 2023 discussion not 2026.
The point is that the VLC 2026 Independence players will play V this season and make an impact. I am not sure if the PVI freshman will even make Varsity or have an impact this season.
The top Fresh players may get ceremonially moved up to V by end of season, some may play. Bottom line PVI JV is stacked, they would easily beat Indy Varsity, it wouldn’t be close.
PVI JV would smoke Indy not even close. Just not the same level but Riverside will smoke them as well.
Agreed, Riverside would smoke Indy too.

The key will be if they can develop the depth to compete with Robinson, Madison, Yorktown, and Langley. Those teams regularly have the depth that other NOVA teams don't. Out west, Riverside is a factory, not as sure about the PW teams, but expect the usual suspects.
May be a down year for Robo and also looks like Patriot may be a bit down with loss of the Rutgers A from last year. Way too early rankings:
1. Madison-Addition of D1 Fogo and still keep the crown until proven otherwise.
2. Battlefield-They will improve with strong senior class and probably top goalie in NOVA
3. Lake Braddock-The three D1 commits will find a way to reach the next level.
4. Robinson-will always stay in the top five
5. Langley-good players keep them alive Yorktown may be a 5(b) with Oakton a 5(c)
there could be other teams and VEL does seem to indicate some Spring success.

PVI has too large a team so don't count on any Freshman getting moved up ceremonially or otherwise this season. Back to the 6A regularly scheduled programming of which PVI, Indy, and Riverside are not a part of.
