Yes I usually have news on in the background. Turned it off and planning on watching hoarders and cleaning the house instead.

Honestly I was kind of offended on September 11th when there was more Queen coverage than anniversary coverage.

+1 I should not be getting multiple push notifications from news organizations regarding the current location of her coffin.

I don’t get push notifications from anyone about anything. You know it’s just a setting, right?

It is history making. Sorry if you are not interested but, it is interesting to people like me who realize that this is the last Queen in our lives and the last monarch to serve this long. It has nothing to do with our war on independence. We have been allies longer than the war. the fact that you all are "over it" is a sad state of affairs in my personal opinion.

Are you kidding? There is a Queen of Denmark reigning as we speak - she’s been on the throne for 50 years.

This Anglophilia is getting very old. The UK is a hot mess of xenophobia and a stagnating economy post- Brexit that is about to tank over winter energy prices. They are nothing to salivate over, but maybe we can see in them the roots of our own white supremacy problems. Nothing is more white supremacist than a Northern European monarchy.

People have a right to voice their opinion.

There’s a reason that the First Amendment was first. The UK does not have one.

Never turned it on. Colonialism is disgusting.

Well, the Indians are trying to get back at the Queen for the Bengal Famine!

The problem is that the precedent was set when Diana pegged it in 97. If I recall it was at least a week (if not more) of wall to wall coverage and mourning.
This is why we are seeing 10 days of mourning for the Queen.

You mean our country fought a war to get rid of royalty.

I was tired of the coverage and social media posts within an hour. I do not get this worship of the royals.
