Agree with this. There are very few students who will benefit academically from one fewer year of skill development.
Even genius kids who race through high school/college/grad school then face employment hurdles because no one wants to hire a 23 year old professor to teach 19 year olds. Calm down people. Life is not a race.
Not everyone has to (or wants to) follow the same, typical UMC pathway to college and career. There are plenty of lower income students and families who are more than happy to accelerate their path to a BS or BA degree while saving money by living at home. Getting a good paying job in the county a year earlier can be a huge deal for some families.
