I'm planning on it but will talk to my doctor first. I'm currently dealing with a huge rash from my breast cancer meds, am on a bunch of prednisone at a dose that would impair efficacy, and have another MRI in November that will cause all kinds of excitement if my lymph nodes are enlarged. I also just had Covid in May. I would like to get an updated booster but I think I will be told to wait a bit.

Just got bivalent booster at CVS in Rockville.

That’s exactly right. Everyone 12 and over is recommended to get the bivalent.

The second booster wasn’t recommended for your age group because it wasn’t needed. You had enough protection from just getting the first booster. People and other groups needed more protection.

Yup. I signed up on the CVS website today. It let me make an appointment after giving my birthdate and the date of my previous booster. I answered no to the question about being immunocompromised. I guess it wasn’t worth it to go get another booster of the original vaccine if you’re not at higher risk, but it is worth it for everyone to get this new one that’s a better match for current strains.

I tried to get mine today but it didn't work out. Walgreen's system went down and it was a fluster cluck of a situation there.

One woman had been waiting for an hour and 15 minutes. I scheduled mine during my 1-hour lunch break so I had to leave after 30 minutes of waiting.

I have another appointment tomorrow but now I've seen several warnings on social media (reddit, twitter) that if your insurance isn't accepted at Walgreens, you can't get a booster there even if you want to pay OOP. That's annoying for several reasons: a) no, Walgreens is not a pharmacy that my insurance accepts; b) my insurance's 'find a bivalent booster near you' link literally took me to the Walgreens site to make my appointment; and c) no other pharmacies in my area currently have the bivalent booster atm.

I'll be mildly annoyed tomorrow if I show up and can't get one.

I'm 40 and don't think I've had any of the strains either. I was boosted Nov 2021 and just got the omicron booster on Tuesday. I figured it's better to get it now while it has the potential to work with the current strains. I'll probably wait until October to get the flu shot.

Got it today, Wednesday. 44 yo, last booster was Nov 2021. Kid had omicron in Jan 2022 but I don’t think I’ve had it yet.

Same. I read wait two months before getting the new one, so that's my plan.

Was planning to get it this week, but now my spouse has covid (tested positive this morning after two days of symptoms/negative rapid tests), and I suspect I’ll have it soon, too. If I don’t already. So now I guess I’ll get the new booster in about two months. Sigh.

I have a lot of business travel and conferences coming up.
Last was boostered Nov 2022. Under 50, weight is only co-morbidity, but very active.

Getting it this week (Friday) at Walgreens. Last boosted in Nov 2021. Thought about waiting but with my kid in school I figured I might as well do it now.
