Does Kahan’s office prescribe the weight loss drugs?

I love Scott Kahan, M.D. He has helped me tremendously and doesn’t push meds but will use them if indicated. He has a whole weight loss center with psychologists, dieticians, etc. and is just about the nicest person you’ll ever meet. He gets how complicated weight loss can be and has helped me with my entire outlook.

OP here. I can’t do no carbs. I did kept, lost some weight, but couldn’t keep up with it. I did medidas, lost lots of weight, gained it all back. And, I never really lose more than 40 lbs. I had been working out, but injured a knee so now I have two bad knees, which being this heavy just makes it worse.

I have tried looking for docs, so many bad reviews!

-any nova recommendations for obesity/endo docs? Therapists? I want to evaluate the drugs or gastric sleeve and do one or the other. But I need the therapy to help me change my head and relationship with food.

Which drug?

You are scaremongering. Nobody is suggesting she buy black market drugs. Any weight loss drugs she takes should of course be under the careful guidance of a physician, preferably an endocrinologist. Also, implying that using any weight loss drugs is the “easy” route and not the safe route is beyond obnoxious, so much so that I doubt your story of complications.

Speaking of DCUMs grotesquely ignorant…

I posted it… not ignorant and likely more educated than you and with much more experience. I’m diabetic and lost 100 pounds and returned to completely normal glucose levels eliminating all carbs.

Come back to us after you have maintained a carb-free diet for over five years. Unless you are one of DCUMs suspiciously unique medical miracles that manage to maintain long term weight loss with carb-free diets that are somehow never actually found in any clinical studies. DCUM is amazing that way in the number of medical miracles that post here.

I’m on 8 years of below 20 carbs a day, actually, and 3 years at near zero…. So that’s already done

Sure, as expected DCUM is full of medical outliers who somehow don’t make appearances in actual studies. I mean that’s expected of any discussion about weight on DCUM.

No outliers… multiple clinical trials with longterm good results prove mine is actually a normal outcome.

Lol, two years does not mean “long term.” Gain some scientific literacy, please.

Eric Westman's work at Duke suggests otherwise.

He’s actually notorious for not studying and publishing sufficiently on long-term outcomes. You inadvertently demonstrated my point better than I did with your reference to Westman.
