The salon can make their own rules and allow kids. You can chose another salon.

NP and I've done this once. I told the owner I was not coming back because I don't want to get my nails done in a day-care center. I found a better place.

Great, but there was no need for you to tell the owner anything. Get a therapist to listen to you.

I prefer to this to dogs in grocery stores and restaurants.

I’ve never taken my kid but I’m pretty sure that these parents wouldn’t take theirs in if they had easy access to childcare. I am like PP who just has lots of sympathy for parents of really little kids and I’ll never begrudge them for taking them places they are allowed to be.

Um...mani and pedis are not something anyone has to do

No, same as bubble baths, a glass of wine, a novel, wearing makeup, travel etc. But we all have things we do to perk us up.

I don’t think it’s ever okay for anyone to watch a show in public without headphones but that’s not a kid issue.

Probably around the time people started thinking it was cute for a mother and six year old to get their nails done together.

This isn’t done at mine either. I guess I am really lucky! And it only a costs about $6/more per pedicure than the strip mall one my friends all go to. I went once and never again!

Did the salon go out of business without your custom? Didn’t think so.

You got what you wanted and so did they.

This is not difficult, people.

At nail salons, in the grocery store, in public, anywhere. [/quote

Worse to me are the realtors and other sales persons walking around the grocery store or standing in line at the post office loudly conducting business on their cell phones.

I typically get pedicures (I don't get manicures) around noon with a friend during the weekdays. I do work FT but make time for this and my schedule is pretty flexible. Never seen a kid there. But if I did? I don't think I'd care.

There is primo gossip in nail salons. Can't find out which news anchor is sleeping with which sportsball star if there are munchkins about.
