Party Girl is the choice role for the younger group and you'll hear a lot of chatter about it on this forum. It's all speculation, but seems to go to favored students and small girls that pick up on choreography quickly. It was a role my daughter always wanted but never got, but many of her friends had the role for 2 or 3 years in a row.

I'd say most sizable schools do a Nutcracker or try to get their students as supers for whatever company is putting on The Nutcracker at the Kennedy Center.
