I have gotten diarrhea after eating at cava 50% of the time. I think it’s an ingredient that does t agree with me. I’ll have it right after I eat it and that’s it.

This is an interesting thread. My DH has started vomiting immediately after eating CAVA - sometimes he doesn’t even get through his meal. He’s obviously stopped eating there but we’re wondering if he’s developed an allergy to a specific ingredient. Unfortunately, he usually gets bowls with twenty ingredients so it will be hard to isolate.

If you got sick very quickly, it probably wasn’t from cava.

I eat there semi-regularly and have never had that problem, but haven't been there much this summer.

Have you been to a dr?

Started about 6 weeks ago. Just when I thought I had turned a corner, it came back -- right after eating at CAVA. Looking through my receipts, I realize we had eaten there right before it started 6 weeks ago, too. We always manage to go right before they close -- but again, this is more serous than food poisoning (that I know of).

Could be something else, but seems like it's CAVA.

Sounds about right. I don’t eat that kind of food

Incorrect, same owners.

I eat there about twice a month. Haven't ever gotten sick.

I ate at Cava in Hanover and ended up in the hospital a few days later with Salmonella. The FDA/CDC just closed their investigation because they could not specifically identify an item. This does not mean that Cava did not cause the Salmonella as the product may have been disposed of or depleted. At least 75 people reported having contracted Salmonella after consuming food at a Cava location in Maryland.

Not CAVA, but I had the same problem after eating at Olive Garden!

Every time at our sweet green, stopped after 3 times in 1 year. Now I am sure.

My DD got it but we had cava from the Silver Spring location. I did not. She had the Greek salad.

I don't trust Cava (other than the actual Cava restaurant in Rockville which is great). The food at the fast service Cava never looks fresh (this is the one in Cabin John). The employees also seem to touch everything and then touch the food after touching everything else. Don't trust it at all. My husband on the other hand loves it there and eats there at least once a week.

This. A six week issue doesn't sound like food poisoning.

Lettuce/raw ingredients are notorious for making people sick.

I disagree, some restaurant food makes me run to the bathroom soon after eating.

Sure but that's intolerance, not food poisoning.
