This op. We ended up going back to elementary in 2nd grade and haven’t looked back (yet).

norwood parent here - totally agree with 8:47 poster. Satisfactory academics, lots of entitled kids in my child's grade who never have real consequences for their behavior (perhaps this is true at all private schools around here), nothing really special.

It’s tricky. I been in your spot. Tried DCPS for PreK and K, went private for 1st. DCPS is hit or miss even at the schools you mentioned. If you’re wanting concierge service, responsive teachers and admin, at WoTP elementary, it was non existent. But at the end of the day it’s elementary school. I’d say if you want Deal or Hardy, try it. If not, your best bet is to stay private.
