Well, I have a bowl of cheerios every night as my snack and I do just fine.

Snap was convicted of adulterating food after Crackle and Pop convinced Kellogg to lay him off.

I’m guessing it’s the milk.

I have become more lactose intolerant with age. Very sad.

Maybe it's the vitamins. My one-a-day vitamin pill makes me want to barf every time.

Rice Krispies do not have gluten

They do. Not from the rice but there is malt. Although if OP was reacting to gluten, I think it would happen with many other foods.

Me too! And I also love the taste.
My mom made me eat it for breakfast for years, claiming it was the “most healthy” cereal, and I had a stomachache every day for years.
She thought I was lying in an effort to get sugar cereal.
Got to love 70’s and 80’s parenting….

Nothing a swig of the pink stuff can’t remedy.

Lol.

I also became milk intolerant as an adult.

What do you put on the cereal OP?

I’m in my 40s and have recently become mildly lactose intolerant. I can still eat yogurt and even have some milk in my coffee, but can’t stomach a full bowl of cereal with milk.

Does this happen with other cereals or just Rice Krispies? I ate cereal with milk pretty much daily for decades and had no issues, until I hit my early 40s and now it gives me a stomach ache. I’m pretty sure it’s the milk, though. I still eat dry cereal with no issues. And I had a Rice Krispie treat last weekend and it was delicious.

Completely incorrect. Rice crispies has less sugar than nearly every other cereal. You guys are thinking about rice crispie treats!

Wrong. There is about 13 grams of sugar in a cup of 1% milk, and about 3.3 grams in a serving of rice crispies. That's 16.3 grams, which is getting comparable to a Snickers bar at 20 grams.

Or were you thinking she was eating them dry? OP, were you eating the cereal just dry?

If a glass of milk is “way too much sugar,” this thread is off the rails

No responsible person on DCUM drinks milk, 1% or otherwise. They sip lukewarm water with a hint of lemon.

Only hedonists add lemon!

I hear tell that Gwyneth Paltrow recommends putting a little lemon in alkaline water.

Brilliant, that.

Ha!
