Try printing it. That's fun. I'm sure lots of families have printers that can print a poster! I loved the old one page calendar. I could fold it up and keep it in my purse.

Just include days off on the calendar for students and days when teachers report but students have off. The cultural events are so confusing, especially the ones marked on weekends. This isn’t meant to be a general calendar, people can buy that on their own. Just tell me when kids don’t have school.

I don't understand why it adds religious and cultural days that do not impact the calendar. Just say what days there are no school.

OP, you are right. If you don’t list the start date and end date of school what is the point. That calendar is useless.The more detailed one is what I used. Does anyone know if parents can pick up the paper poster version somewhere.

If you’re the DCPS employee or team the developed this and you know it’s the calendar that thousands of families will rely upon why wouldn’t you send a draft to a handful of families or parents just to ask for feedback? I’m pretty sure a review team of four or five people would have resulted in at least someone pointing out that “hey, you didn’t tell me what the first day of school is or the last day.” Somebody just wanted to check a box and get this task off their desk and did a really poor job.

This is so weirdly overdesigned. Sigh.

DCPS used to create a really simple, clear 12-month calendar. Just a regular old calendar with the relevant info in each day block. I understand if printing them and sending them home was cost prohibitive (although I loved getting them that way, and I immediately hung one up in my kitchen and took the other to my office), why not just create them for home printing?

They’ve already done that for 23-24 and all years after that. This is the last year ending after Juneteenth.

glance calendar doesn’t show the last day of school

You’re right. It’s really, really bad. Why do they have the same code for every holiday? It’s probably the worst school calendar I’ve ever seen.
