What people object to is when the institutions cover up sex abuse, and that argument is barely if at all applicable to atheists because while you may have found a couple of associations representing a couple thousand atheists they simply do not cover the vast majority of atheists
Also, the atheist organizations that do exist don't hold the same sway over members as churches do. There's no fear of eternal damnation to keep people in line.

Nobody said that. This puts a fine point on the hypocrisy of atheists’ daily slams against Catholics, though.
There are many bad people - some atheists and some religious. Beingg atheists or religious is not the cause of why some are bad. Have we not seen enough of bad on both sides? I don't know why you are picking fight with atheists. That's not very Christian-like.
Providing data is leveling the playing field after years of daily vitriol against Catholics and other believers. Providing data is not “picking a fight” in any sense.
Come on PP. It's called "cherry picking". Be better.
So you’re discounting sexual misconduct by misleading atheists. Got it.
Don't think you Got it, but you sure are trying hard to make atheists look like sexual predators. Any group has a hard time catching up to religions when it comes to sexual predation.

If your point is that powerful orgs cover up misbehavior, well American Atheists covered it up too until BuzzFeed forced them to act. Then Silverman used the atheist old boys network to land another well-paying job with a different atheist group.
You almost sound like you’re excusing atheist sexual misconduct because there are fewer of you. It might be better to notice that, with just a handful of national atheist/humanist orgs, two of them employed this creep.
I’m an atheist but I have nothing to do with American Atheists. I don’t support them and would never give them any money, much less 10% of my income. I don’t see what point you’re trying to make here exactly.
