There's a difference between content and motivated to go out and vote. They've been fed a line for years about how Republicans and Democrats are both equally terrible and somehow bought it mostly out of lazinesss.
Now they see the reality because of Roe V Wade. I suspect "these people" (condescending bulls---) may in fact be motivated and have gained a bit of clarity.
Call me cynical. If they are okay with Trump they are okay with RvW being overturned.
But then can the rural Kansas vote be explained? I think it may have been a rallying cry that felt good, but in practice isn’t. Reminds me of how many people across social media say that they saw women protesting abortion one day only to get one the next. Then, they’d go right back again.

I think last year was a fluke in VA, not a trend. People lost their minds after the pandemic.

I'm glad at least some women are waking up.
Why would a woman want to move to one of these red states to take a job at this point, or go to college? Doesn't make sense any longer, women's health care in those states will go downhill.

Affect, sorry. I'm aware that abortion isn't in immediate danger in VA, but political trends there are not reassuring, so why even risk it when there are so many good college options elsewhere?
He is applying to Maryland, northeast and Canadian universities.

NP. It's playing with fire. YOungkin is on record saying that he would like to restrict abortion rights after the Dobbs decision. And with a Republican House and a bare minimal Democratic advantage in the Senate, it is in great danger. This years elections could flip the Senate and then it would be easy for Youngkin to restrict abortion rights the way he's already said he would.

That is not the case with the R women I know. They are shocked that Roe was overturned.
I would love to listen in on a focus group of R women sometime. When Ds heard Kav and ACB during their confirmation hearings, we KNEW they were there to overturn Roe and it's exactly what they would do. I would love to hear from R women about what they actually heard and believed there. I find it astonishing that anyone could have come away thinking that Roe was safe with these two on the bench!
Republican women like to think of themselves as people and thought their party felt the same way. They bought all the lines about feminazis and all that and thought that they’d be able to choose their own lives and also serve the patriarchy. Surprise! Women aren’t people in the GOP!
Remember how surprised this one was when she finally got what she'd been fighting for?

I think so too. Those states have told you omen what they think of women's health care and what they think of women as people. Why pay a premium to travel there for college?
