I put sunscreen on my DC's faces because they burn easily. Most of their friends don't wear sunscreen and are fine.

Nice for you and your kids. My DS has terrible reactions to any bug bite.

Mine does too, but I don’t put bug spray on every day for school! No one would sit next to the smelly kid all morning, and it would wear off by recess anyway. We do for outdoor camps but not school.

Naturapel spray claims (on the label) to lasts 12 hours. I have my doubts as to the full 12 hours, but it definitely lasts for the school day for us.

How can you know that? My kids come home from school without bites without spray, even the one who is normally a bug magnet.

Because when we've forgotten, they have been bitten. If yours doesn't need it, it doesn't make sense to use it. We definitely need it.

I wrap my children from head to toe in bubble wrap with a little hole for air. Not only does it block UV rays, it also prevents bug bites. Win/win!

Only for camp. Once in kindergarten they are only outside 20 min tops for recess and they aren’t in the woods at all. No bug spray or sunscreen

Sunscreen needs to be reapplied every 1.5 -2 hours, usually. So it wouldn’t do much at r ces or lunch if applied before school.

No. They only have 30 min playground time at lunch time.

No. They're not going to be outside for several hours.

Sunblock on face and arms, yes. Bug spray, no.

No. My kids spend the first 2 hours of every school day sitting in a classroom. By the time they go outside, any sunscreen/bug spray would have worn off.
