Do you find them satisfying?

No and no

I do not find smoothies satisfying. they fill me up for maybe an hour and then I am hungry again.
I also prefer to chewy my food and don't find smoothies to be all that healthy

Eat them, love them, find them filling. I use protein mixes tho.

Yes, I often have a smoothie as a meal. I try to make them around 300 calories. They are very filling because of the sheer size of them relative to a sandwich or something.

I recently got into Kelly Leveque’s Fab Four style of smoothie, built around fat, fiber, protein, and greens and they are filling and satisfying for hours. They don’t spike your blood sugar (unlike fruit based smoothies) so you aren’t left with rebound cravings, and they’re not low calorie - I easily hit 500 calories per smoothie and if you’re not paying attention, they can easily be much more. I never found smoothies to be a suitable meal replacement until finding these, but now I’m hooked.

I have a daily smoothie (lots of greens, mixed fruits)....same recipe for the past 6 years or so. I used it as a way to get enough greens and fruit in my diet but its most definitely not a meal. I usually keep it on ice and drink it throughout the morning (sometimes all day).

I know you are supposed to include protein but I just don't like the taste with nut milks or protein powder. I try on occasion to have a full fat yogurt to balance it out and not spike my blood sugar and feel more full (never works).

I don’t put that many ingredients in my breakfast smoothie but it does fill me up - maybe because of all of the liquid. I do 1 cup of half almond milk and half coconut milk. Then 1 cup of water. I then add some mango and blueberries, spinach/kale, vanilla protein, flax/hemp/chia, maca, 2 scoops collagen, and sometimes a pinch of sunflower seeds. I actually love it. I follow it up with a big almond coffee so maybe the combo of all the liquid fills me up? I usually have the smoothie for breakfast around 11am then a late lunch around 3 with a protein source like salmon or chicken etc.

I love smoothies, but my body refuses to acknowledge that I’ve eaten when I have one. Could load that sucker up with nut butter, bananas, flax meal, protein powder, fistfuls of spinach and whole milk yogurt and my stomach is like, “That’s cute—when’s lunch?”
