While I advocate for a daily shower - there have been times when I am in a deep depression where taking a shower seems pointless.
When I am so miserable that even a dirty body does not matter.
Just the thought of getting out of bed to turn the faucet on in the shower seems like such an insurmountable task.

If she brings up not showering daily again, add that it’s a family rule in your household that everyone showers daily out of respect for one another living in close quarters and that most people don’t recognize when they have body odor.

+1 on the mental health element. I have major depressive disorder + executive functioning issues and I cannot make myself shower every day. I just can't. When I'm in really bad shape I'll go 3-4 days. I try...it's hard to explain, though. It feels really arduous when I'm OK, but insurmountable and utterly pointless when I'm not.

+1 I have PTSD and my trauma is shower-related. Most people don't know. It takes a lot for me to shower 3-4 times a week. In bad months, I do it once a week, but I try to hit it every other day as a routine. I had a nightmare last night, and even though my clothes were clean today, I could smell myself a bit later. I sprayed on some perfume. I just couldn't poasibly bathe thia mornjng. Ugh.

Let this be a cautionary tale for all those who use air freshener and odor neutralizers like unscented Febrreeze etc: it kills your sense of smell. It does not "trap" bad odors.

I have read all the articles where some expert will tell us that we do not need daily showers, that bathing daily is so bad for our skin, etc.
That we should not interfere w/our bodies natural oils & such.
However, especially when it is hot…
I think all adults should shower on a daily basis.
It doesn’t have to be a long, drawn out process.
It can be a short process.
Starting off every day w/a clean body can set the pace for a good day.
