It’s a head-scratcher, and sometimes comes up in conversation in the neighborhood because it just seems to narcissistic. One of the kids seems to have picked up on this because she walks around the pool like she hung the moon, disruptive in swim team practice, and just generally being annoying in the name of being “cute.”

She has a point. I am surprised how many parents give minimize the issue of privacy on social media.

Its also interesting how much of it is misleading. I have a friend who is completely bankrolled by her parents - they pay for her kids private school, ALL of their travel, summer camps, large home downpayment to bring mortgage down, and the parents have a very fancy backyard with pool, poolhouse, etc. My friend posts constantly about all of this but definitely passes it off (by omission) as a lifestyle she is funding herself.

Why are you still surprised by this?! If you don't like it, mute her for a few months. If you don't want to do it, don't do it. But she does it because she likes to use social media that way. Who cares really?
