No because a UCLA undergrad is older with a different frame of reference for what they want to do and where they will feel safe.

+1. My teens loved staying near the Grove and La Farmers Market. It was also centrally located to go to la brea tarpits, the walk of fame, and other LA tourist sites. We stayed at the Farmers Daughter/Short Stories hotel right across from LA Farmers Market. It is a 3 star and rooms are small, but it is fine if you are just doing a short trip.

Hi OP. I'm the PP with a DD at UCLA who posted that West Hollywood is very hip with the young folks. I posed this question to my DD, and she said for sure West Hollywood or Beverly Hills.

And for the record, I LOVE the LA Farmers Market! DD likes shopping at the Grove because she LOVES Alo.

If edgier is what they want, then an airbnb in trendy Highland Park or Silverlake, or a hotel like Citizen M downtown or The Line in Koreatown. All far more interesting than North Hollywood.
