I'm confused as to how a 15 yr old just pops random pills someone hands them. Even if my own parents handed me pills I would have been asking at that age "What is this? How did you get this for me? What does it do? But I'm not sick - why do I need this?" and on and on. Isn't everyone teaching their kids you don't take drugs unless you met with a doctor and they prescribed them for a specific issue you're having? I knew that by 6 or 7 and I'm no rocket scientist!


She said she was given “happy” pills at 15, not opioids. And she seems to come from an abusive and neglectful family of origin who were okay with their minor child being with handlers in inapproriate situations. That is likely why she didn’t make the same choices you would have at six.

Totally different. She just stated in a People article that she didn’t want to be around her daughter. Her exact words. Her daughter will read this one day. People that give their children up for adoption don’t have access to them…she does. Stop making excuses for such a trash human.


If her child is in Ukraine I doubt she has access to them right now.

It’s worse. The women forced to give birth never wanted their child in the first place. All of those unwanted kids will grow up knowing they weren’t wanted at all.

Much, much worse.


It's not. Once you've given your child up for adoption, you've made the choice to cut ties for them to live a better life. To have access to your child, and to make the choice not to have much to do with them is incredibly painful and confusing for the child. It is a choice you are making over and over again. Many of these posts are focused on HP's feelings, which I could care less about. She's an adult that's made bad choices. I care about her child.

That’s a common symptom of PPD. Get educated about it.


Girlfriend, I'm educated. How about you get a clue? You're likely a neglectful parent yourself, or you don't have kids. It's a symptom of PPD, but no decent mother would put something like that in print for her child to see later. It literally defies any parenting instinct. This was years ago, and she still has nothing to do with her daughter.

Stop making excuses for this person. Plenty of people have PPD...they get help and move on. It's not an excuse to be a crappy parent for the duration of you kid's childhood.

I mean, yes women and men sometimes stay with or stay connected to their abusers. It’s a known, common dynamic, unfortunately.

She’s obviously a talented child/teen star who—like many, many child and teen stars before her—struggles with substance abuse and the complicated lifestyle that usually follows substance abuse. On top of that, she suffered from PPD. She was never properly raised to handle the complexities of raising a child, maintaining sobriety, handling adult life, etc. She is a person who struggles in large part because she wasn’t allowed to have a childhood. Some child stars make it and are successful—this is true. But many struggle and suffer, and this is also true.

And now what? She has to live under a rock until she is 100% healed and perfect? She doesn’t get to seek gainful employment, and yes doing press is part of being an actor, the only profession she was ever trained and raised to do? She should just give up and die, or give up and never show her face in public? What do you people want from her?

You’re saying she’s not “completely on the other side of her struggles” like…OK? And? And what? And so she should stay home and not talk to the press? She should not take acting jobs, which do indeed require press interaction? She should not share her struggles and her ups and downs? You’re saying she’s not on the other side of her struggles. OK? I would imagine most people are not on the other side of their struggles, but they still go to work every day. Just because her work entails talking to the press doesn’t mean she shouldn’t pursue it until she is “on the other side of her struggles.”
