Tipping has gotten out of control. End of discussion.

People are morally against tipping at places where the employees are paid a regular wage and do not work for tips -- places such as Mod Pizza, Subway, Sweet Frogs, Mezeh, Panda Express, Cava, etc. Those places should not pressure people to tip on their take-out order.

I tip if they give me a lap dance before I leave.

Why in the hell would I tip some teen girl $5 or whatever to literally turn around and grab my pizza? We stopped tipping there because it seemed so unfair that tips aren't shared with the boys in the back who actually bust their tails making the pizza and sweating over the ovens.[/quote

Because typically back of the house staff make more per hour than tipped employees make.

Tip for delivery

Tip if we dine at restaurant

A couple of bucks for curb side pick-up

Gosh, you people are cheap. Forty years ago I worked at a restaurant and was always tipped a few bucks for packing up the order and bringing it out to the customers. And this was in a far less wealthy area than the DMV!

You are talking about packing up the order and bringing it out the the customer. The PP said that they do tip for that service.

Yes, because I only order from my favorite places that I want to keep in business. If I was trying something new, I would only leave a minimal tip.

Exactly. While we are seeing it as our labor, they have one less table and are still providing service.

Sometimes. I tip more for table service. But prob 10-15% for takeaway. The percentage is prob higher on smaller orders. No one want to be the ahole leaving a dollar.
