Another American tragedy today - a tragedy that could have been avoided by firearm safety legislation.

Nothing to celebrate. If we can’t go to a small town 4th if July parade without fear of getting shot, we have no freedom.

Impressive fireworks display later tonight - as always.

Our neighborhood represents people from nearly every state... very few born and raised in the area. But we all have one thing in common - proud to be American.

+1 same for our neighborhood!

Lots of celebrating and fun.

So you are celebrating people getting shot?

Typical right wing denial. "Didn't happen to me so who cares."

Every day, there are tragedies. Banality of evil and all that. But, only the mentally ill cancel all their plans to sit in mourning over daily shootings that dont involve them. A normal and healthy behavior is to continue on with your celebrations. Im wishing you peace, comfort, and a good therapist.

Sure whatever gets you through the night.

Actually, no. Lots of cities have canceled celebrations for fear of copy cat massacres. Normal, healthy behavior? No. We don’t live in a normal or healthy country. We love guns.

Are you in a great mood even though children were gunned down at a 4th of July parade today?

I live 20 minutes from Highland Park; parade, fireworks cancelled; beaches closed.

Happy 4th everyone. /s

It was interesting, no clapping for Republicans, be it groups or candidates, clapping happened for the Democratic groups and candidates though. I had a tiny glimmer of hope because I felt it was turning red rapidly but I'm starting to think they are just more loud here.

Yes, that’s exactly what I said. Your reading comprehension is stellar.

You are disgusting celebrating 6 people getting murdered.

West coast here. Everyone was jumpy and talking about the mass shooting. Certainly not festive or happy, really. People going through the motions while looking over their shoulders and keeping their kids close.

Sad 4th.
