And apparently there is new HITW place Frank's burgers. It is completely hidden from the public.

Wheaton is kind of like a treasure trove of HITW places with all sorts of ethnic options. So NOT depressing. There's a great sushi place near Fillipos but I don't want to give it away

It’s not visible from outside, you need to go inside an unmarked door to find it, and it’s as bare bones as you can be and still be a functioning restaurant. I’ve never eaten anything less than amazing there and while it is vegan, you in no way need to be vegan to enjoy it.

Oh gawd. Vegan?? Yuck.

Thanks for the rec. I love vegan food.

I get that argument but I think holes in the wall can continue to be holes in the wall with a huge crowd from this site. One example is Kabob Palace in Crystal City.

I stopped going there after one of my kabobs came with a piece of meat that still had hairy fur/hide on it.

At least you know the meat was minimally processed and fresh!

I hope that place isn’t subsidized. If it is, the world bankers should be delivering meals to homeless folks once a week. More should be asked of bureaucrats. So spoiled.

I'm not sure it's still open, but Capitol Grounds Cafe on 17th Street and K had the best sandwiches. I loved that place.
